Michael Blum

Michael Blum is reinventing himself. A highly respected and gifted jazz guitarist, he is beginning his first foray into the mainstream. Growing up with musicians as parents, Blum developed an affinity for jazz and R&B early on, picking up the guitar by the age of six. An east coast transplant, Blum arrived in Los Angeles and signed with Fire Tower Entertainment for management earlier this year. Since then, the gifted vocalist and multi-instrumentalist has spent countless hours in the studio writing and producing a new catalog of songs that seamlessly fuse together electropop, R&B, funk, disco, and jazz influences. He has also quickly made a name for himself in the Los Angeles music scene with performances at Echo Park Rising, the Melrose Trading Post Mainstage, and other noteworthy venues and events.

Recognized as “Rising Star Guitarist” in DownBeat Magazine’s revered Critics Poll, Blum has garnered favorable reviews for his jazz EPs in the likes of Newsday, All About Jazz, The New York City Jazz Record, and Vintage Guitar Magazine. In addition to touring nationwide at clubs and festivals, Blum also received airplay on Canada’s CBC Radio One and NPR stations throughout the United States. Blum has spent recent years perfecting the craft of songwriting, which, as an introvert, he uses as a vessel to express his innermost feelings and deepest desires. His deeply authentic songwriting style employs visual storytelling, conversational but romantic deliveries, and melodies that are instantly familiar and catchy. The first single featured on his new project, "Taking You Back," was released in March 2019, and his EP is slated for release in early 2020.
